Basics on Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)

PCB is a well-known term in the era of modern technology. Starting from the PCB manufacturers to the users, all are well acquainted with its user-friendly features. Based on the customers’ demand lots of PCB manufacturers are supplying various need-based PCBs which fit best in the electronic products. Nowadays, the PCB plays a vital role in functioning various electronic devices- it provides constant mechanical support to each electrical component and it also assists in electromagnetic shielding, heat transfer, and many more.

In layman's language, a PCB is nothing but an electrical circuit board in which the wiring and certain components are placed on an insulating substrate by several graphic arts procedures in a printed form. These Printed Circuits consist of several layers of insulating materials which are combined with electrical conductors. It consists of conductive tracks, pads, and other features which are etched from copper sheets and laminated onto a conductive substrate. It can be single-layered i.e one copper layer or double-layered i.e two copper layers or multi-layered based on the requirement.

When some additional components are added to the PCB, then it is called PCB Assembly. PCB Assembly comprises several electronic components that enable the functioning of an electronic device. The components of the PCB Assembly are carefully inserted in either of the two techniques i.e. Surface-mount construction and Through-hole construction. But in most, circuit boards both the techniques are combined to achieve maximum efficiency in the design & performance of the PCB.

Now the task is to select a reliable PCB manufacturer or supplier which will ensure the quality of your electronic products. Once the required PCB is installed in the electronic product, the functionality of the device becomes durable and user-friendly.
